It's hard to believe that sweet little Kyron Horman is still missing two years after he disappeared from his school. Terri Horman, his step-mom, dropped him off at school, took a photo of him and without a trace, Kyron was never seen again.
I reviewed Terri and Kaine Horman at the time. You can read my thoughts here. Looking back at it now, I can't help but wonder if Terri helped Kaine write what he said that day in the media. I suspect she did and I suspect the odd words I picked up on were from Terri's influence. Who thinks of "memories" so soon after a child is missing? Who thanks people before their child is found? Are these things what Terri suggested Kaine do? I'd love to know...

People often shake their head for a variety of reasons. Some times people shake their head in disbelief. Sometimes they shake their head in amazement, like when they'd say "I can't believe how big that wave was." Other times they shake their head to mean no. Just because someone shakes their head left to right (or vice versa) when they say something that is affirmative, doesn't mean it is a sign of deception or they don't believe what they are saying.
Head shakes are quite tricky business if you don't have a deep understanding of human nature, and I caution people not to use head shakes as hot spots or clues unless you understand the nuances.
As with all clues to deception, for every clue you tell me that indicates a lie, I can find an honest person who does the same thing.
For beginners, when you are looking for this clue in deception, you want to look for a change between an unconscious action to a conscious correction for it to be a solid clue.
With Kaine Horman, his head shake in this video (which I cannot get to load this morning), does not flag me as inconsistent in any fashion.

Kaine Horman spoke out last week and a reader noticed his head shaking as he was speaking. Does his head shake mean that he doesn't agree with what he is saying? Is it suspicious?

In the video, Desiree is asked if she still holds out hope that Kyron is alive. She thinks for a second, shakes her head no, and then says, "I will until the day I die."
You just want to hug Desiree and make it all better. If only we could...

CNN has an interesting article today on Kyron Horman case. Little Kyron, 8, went missing on June 4, 2010, from his school and hasn't been seen since.
Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said "We have knowledge of things we wish we didn't." He goes on to say that there will be things that come out in this investigation that he think will surprise us. I can't imagine another surprise in this case. We've been surprised a lot already in this case from Terri and Kaine Horman splitting up to her being fingered as putting out a hit on Kaine's life, to Terri being banned from seeing her little daughter to the Horman's filing for divorce. The list goes on and on.
The sheriff says they have spent over $1 million dollars on the effort to find Kyron so far, and the case isn't "cold".

There is a new woman of interest in the disappearance of Kyron Horman. Her name is DeDe Spicher. She has been in close contact with Terri Horman since Kyron's disappeared and news reports are saying that Spicher is telling people not to cooperate. Apparently, Spicher has been giving Terri Horman support and advice since Kyron went missing.

Gym owner, Bob Briede, who owns Extreme Edge Fitness, the gym where Kaine Horman works out, said to Fox news that he saw Terri Horman at the gym acting suspiciously. He called her "stone-faced". Briede said that Terri approached a woman at the childcare center and said some alarming things, which prompted him to call police.
Briebe says to Fox, "Her behavior was definitely suspicious and I felt it justified making a phone call to the authorities...Her behavior was just odd."
Fox also reports that investigators are now searching the area around Skyline school again.

There seems to be a lot going on in the Kyron Horman case today--more trouble for Terri. Kaine Horman filed a court motion for contempt, asking the court to hold Terri Horman in contempt of court. She has apparently shared sealed court documents with people when she was forbid to do so.
In the motion filed today, Kaine has been informed by law enforcement that Terri has been having an affair with a high school friend of Kaine, named Michael Cook. The court document says that Terri showed court documents, which contained Kaine's new residence to Cook and had him take cell phone pictures of them. According to records, Cook then used the information to search for Kaine's current address on Google.
Kaine also learned according to the motion that was filed today that Terri is in a sexual relationship with Michael Cook. The motions says that LE backs this as they have had interviews with Cook himself.
Was is disturbing is the police have supporting materials including "Respondent [Terri Horman] in various stages of undress and graphic sexual activity" from Cook.
Police have told Kaine's attorney that Terri's behavior is similar to how she treated the landscaper in the murder-for-hire plot...The motion says, "sexual overtures to Mr. Cook resemble those man to a man Respondent previously attempted to hire to murder Petitioner."
It gets even more disturbing. Terri looked to abduct Kiara from the daycare gym when Kaine worked out.

Kyron Horman's parents share details about their son, the search and Terri Moulton Horman
A reporter asks Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, missing boy and biological parents to Kyron, if there were red flags with Terri Horman, Kaine's second wife, and they both respond yes.
Desiree Young tells us that when she talked to Terri the day Kyron went missing, things didn't seem right to her. She had a motherly intuition that something was wrong.
Kaine said, "In the natural course of actions, she (Terri) was separating herself. I don't think it was purposefully, but it was just apparent..."
Desiree says, "This is the stuff you write in novels. This is not our life. It's just a little boy. I just don't understand it."
I think Desiree is distancing herself from Kyron because she refers to Kyron as, "It's just a little boy." It doesn't flag me in any way with deception. It just clues me in how she is coping with this nightmare.
The reporter asks Desiree what is was like when Terri was hugging both of them in the first presser, when she had these suspicions, and Desiree replies, "Extremely frustrating, um, its hard for me because I am not really a fake person. What you see is...I wear my emotions and I don't have a face I put on for other people... It's extremely difficult to stand next to somebody you know is lying about your son and where he is."
I personally do not believe that Kaine was suspicious of Terri during the first press conference (which I wasn't sure of at that time). I think it took him more time to come around, but that would absolutely be expected. He was much more emotionally invested in "his family unit".
Several people have commented that Kaine is not very emotional. It doesn't strike me as unusual for "him". I do think he has been through the war with all that is going on, and he has found his rock in Desiree, his ex-wife, who is there for him and supporting him. I suspect both Desiree and Tony Young have been kind to Kaine, which is amazing. Many ex-wives would resent their ex-husband for putting them in this position, but Desiree seems to have a compassionate and kind heart. Kaine is lucky for that. He has a compassionate shoulder to lean on.

Here are some details about the sting operation where police attempted to get Terri Horman to talk about her involvement in the murder-for-hire plot to kill Kaine Horman. Terri Horman allegedly approached a landscaper to kill her husband. Now her husband Kaine has been led to believe she is also involved in the disappearance of their son Kaine.

I asked Steve Kardian to share his thoughts on the latest developments in the Terri Horman case [Terri offers money to kill Kaine]:
This new development answers a lot of questions that were raised last Thursday, when Desiree Young, with Kyron's dad and her husband standing behind her, made an emotional plea to Terri Horman before television cameras -- the family's first public statements directed at Kyron's stepmom since the boy disappeared a month ago.
Last week I mentioned that law enforcement would not share investigative findings, regarding Kryon, with the family unless there was a safety issue clearly identified. This was apparently the case.
Regarding the unidentified landscaper, law enforcement (LE) and the District Attorney's office will need to corroborate the information the landscaper provided. Two complications are the fact that the landscaper did not come forward with this information when this originally happened six or seven months ago. Even a bad attorney will have a field day with this. Second, we do not know the credibility of the landscaper and or if he has an arrest record or any questionable dealings.
The fact that Terri has lawyered up has removed any opportunity for LE to solicit information or a confession from her.
This is a sensitive case, a national case and an emotional case. LE and the prosecutor have done a good job keeping this close to the vest and they will want to go forward gingerly and build a solid case should this all be true.

Things have just gotten weird in the Kyron Horman case. I don't think anyone saw this one coming.
According to OregonLive.com, news has surfaced that Terri offered a landscaper money to kill her husband, Kaine, six to seven months before Kyron disappeared. The landscaper worked for the Hormans and just recently came forward.
Oregon Live writes, "She reportedly offered the landscaper, who advertises his expertise in lawn care, a large sum of money to carry out the scheme, sources say."
It was this news that police gave to Kaine that made him move out of the family home, file for divorce and to get a restraining order against Terri to see their daughter last Saturday. If you want my opinion, Kaine never saw this coming by the way he stood beside his wife in the first presser.
Ironically, Terri denies that she ever did this.
The thought of this is so eerie. I can only imagine what it has done to Kaine. Sadly, this doesn't bode well for Kyron at all. You can read more here.

Missing Kyron Horman, Skyline Elementary School, June 4, 2010
The press conference by the parents of Kyron Horman was rather strange today. According to the Williamette Weekly, they set ground rules and one of them was that no cameras were allowed, with one exception given to ABC news.

Many people are wondering what sparked the divorce proceedings and restraining order from Kaine. I read today at OregonLive.com, that a 911 call came from the Horman home at 5:46 PM this past Saturday regarding "threats".
In Kaine's petition for the divorce, he put "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.
I wonder if things came to a head Saturday night.

According to KATU.com, Kaine Horman was granted a restraining order against his soon-to-be ex-wife, Terri Moulton Horman, to keep her away from their 18-month old daughter, Kiara.
Kaine has left the family home. How sad...
