George's Alledged Mistress Krystal Holloway on the Stand
  by Eyes at 1:51 PM

Krystal Holloway took the stand today and told the people in the courtroom that she had an intimate relationship affair with George Anthony and that George said about Caylee's death, "It was an accident...that snowballed out of control."  If these are true, of course, it is good for the defense.  Unfortunately, I do not believe either of them.

I do not believe Krystal Holloway had any type of affair with George outside of a friendship nor do I believe that George told Krystal that what happened was an accident.  What  George did at the time, if you want my opinion, was speculate and Krystal actually confirms this for us.

Krystal isn't a person where we look for emotions to give her away. Krystal's untruths are uncovered by flat out inconsistencies in what she says.  One days she says one thing and the next she changes her story -- the classic hallmark of a liar.  Honest people don't do this, but Krystal does, and she does it again and again and again.  Sadly, Krystal's own sister, Cecelia, even says she lies and Krystal told the Orange County Sheriff investigator that she has lied in the past herself.  Nothing supports Krystal's story--not even her own words.

If Jose Baez could convince a jury that Krystal really did have an affair with George, he would have gone for it, but he couldn't because he had no proof.

If we dissect the two things that Krystal wants us to believe, she has major inconsistencies with both.

With regard to the affair, she's told two stories now.  The first time she told the Orange County Sheriff's office she didn't have an affair, and now she admits she did.  When asked why she didn't tell the truth the first time, Krystal tells us she was afraid it would harm George, and she was embarrassed.  If that were true, she wouldn't have sold her story a week later to the National Enquirer, would she?  It makes her story  ridiculous, but it shows motive on Krystal's part--motive to change her story for money.  No credible source would take her story because it was nonsense and she knows it.

Look back at this video and watch Krystal deny she was motivated for money during that time she was working on the story with the National Enquirer.  Another inconsistency.  Whoops!  I called it back then, too.

And when it comes to what George said, Krystal wants us to believe as she testified today that George said,  "It was an accident...that snowballed out of control."  However, the Orange County investigator in February 2010 asked Krystal precise questions and got to the truth.  George did not say those words--those are Krystal's words.  She strangely can't remember what he said verbatim.

Read here, on page 17, what the investigator at Orange County asks Krystal.  He says, "Did he say to you that Casey told him it was an accident?  Or is that something you just believed?"  Krystal responds, "He didn't say, he um...like he knew it was an (inaudible -- I suspect the word is accident)."

Sure, what parents whose grandchild is missing is going to assuming it was anything other than an accident?  People don't assume their relatives are murderers, for Pete's sake!  That makes sense and is the truth.  However, when pushed by that investigator, Krystal quickly goes back to claiming her story and says again, "He just said it was an accident that went wrong."

You can't have it both ways, Krystal.

I see nothing that makes Krystal even remotely credible in my eyes. She isn't able to share word-for-word conversations with George about Caylee and her accident theory, she is not able to make solid credible statements or give any proof for anything she says. Instead, she talks out of both sides of her mouth and changes her story like a 2-year old changes clothing. And worse, her story about being romantically involved with George only changed when she talked to the National Enquirer and $4,000 were laid in front of her.  Hmmmm....

As I predicted, Krystal is a train wreck!

Did George Anthony have an affair?
  by Eyes at 1:36 PM

George Anthony testified on the stand yesterday, and denied that he had an affair with Krystal Holloway (aka River Cruz). Was he honest or did he lie?

In my opinion, George was being honest. I believe him when he says that Krystal Holloway told him she had a brain tumor and was dying. Krystal Holloway is a self-admitted liar. She also sold a story to the National Enquirer, yet told reporters she was not speaking out to make money--clearly her behavior doesn't match her words.

In her interview with the Orange County Sheriffs office, Krystal demonstrated a lot of hallmarks of people who are deceptive.

I'd trust George Anthony 1000 times over Krystal Holloway. Click here to read my thoughts on Krystal Holloway.

Casey Anthony "If Looks Could Kill..."
  by Eyes at 12:58 PM

Here are some interesting photos of Casey Anthony in the courtroom a few days ago (Trial Day 38). She appears to be livid, and full of rage at her attorney, Jose Baez. You can watch the video here. When you see anger to this degree, it is your warning that the person could be very volatile--to take precautions.

At the bottom, I will put a picture of a convicted murderer, John Gardner, who gave this exact same expression in court when his only surviving victim spoke out in court.

"If looks could kill..."

Baseline
Tension first appears in the lips.
We see anger and disgust combined.

As Jose Baez walks by, watch Casey glare at him.

1 in 15 People lie about SSN and DOB on Credit Apps
  by Eyes at 10:09 AM

Credit Cards

A company called ID Analytics did a study and found that 1 in 15 people intentionally commit fraud on their credit application by providing another social security number or date of birth--often to avoid credit rejection or to obtain the right to more credit.

The study included 267 million adults and in that group, they believe 8% are not a result of accidents. They  uncovered several people who were using over 100 social security numbers!

Roy Kronk on the Stand: Honest or lying?
  by Eyes at 2:36 PM

Click on the photo above to see the video I reviewed

Roy Kronk took the stand today, and I absolutely believe he is telling the truth.  He is a stickler for details, ironically, and he rightfully corrects the defense attorney who questions him about calling 911.  He insists he did not call 911 and the defense attorney finally concedes he called the non-emergency number after checking with the prosecution.

I am not an expert in identifying disorders, but I have to wonder if Roy Kronk could have a mild form of Asperger's syndrome.  He seems social awkward, like social interactions may be more challenging for him. He also seems emotionally dull.  When I watch him on the stand, his eyebrows are displaying stress to me.  I get the sense he doesn't quite understand what the defense doesn't get.  In his mind, he is stating the facts, so what is there to question?  People with this condition may also get interested in something, and get very absorbed into it-- which is what I suspect happened with Kronk and his desire to find Caylee's body.  He was probably more attuned to nuances than the average person and that is why his persistence and curiosity paid off. People with this condition are often more intelligent than average, too, and when you watch Kronk recall his details, he is steadfast with them.

You may notice Roy Kronk licking his lips.  To me, this is simply a sign of nervousness.  If you notice, when he does it, the questioning attorney has raised his voice, and I suspect Kronk is unconsciously stressing from that...feeling pressure.

I believe Roy Kronk is honest in the video above.

I will review George Anthony tomorrow.

Blago Found Guilty on 17 of 20 Charges
  by Eyes at 3:56 PM

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is likely frustrated today, as he demonstrates in the photo above, because a federal jury convicted him of 17 out of 20 counts.  He was accused of trying to selling Barack Obama's senate seat. Thankfully, the jury saw it correctly this time, and there wasn't a hold out juror like we saw in the first trial.

Purse lips (to me as seen above) are a clear sign that a person is feeling frustrated and misunderstood.  Blago knew people weren't buying his story, though he arrogantly continued to try to sway the crowd in stubborn defiance--likely because it always worked before.  Just this time he got in too far over his head.

I analyzed "Blago" in January 2009 when he was appearing in the media frequently claiming his innocence. His behavior gave him away without a doubt. He refused to answer direction questions, he talked like a Dutch Uncle who believed he could sell you the Brooklyn Bridge, but gave us nothing of substance to believe him except arrogant denial.  Today Blago found out that he was the one who was a fool.

Watch Blago talk on Larry King LIVE.  He gives us a subconscious leak that tells us what he really thinks about his "hands" in corruption.  Did he think they were "clean"?  You tell me...

Dr. Mark Wranger on Dateline NBC Tonight
  by Eyes at 9:08 PM

48 Hours profiled the story of Dr. Mark Wrangler and his wife, Kathy in May.  Now Dateline is running the story tonight.

Kathy ended up dying in the family home of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Dr. Wrangler was an anesthesiologist, and was eventually convicted of killing his wife by directing the flow of carbon monoxide to the upstairs where Kathy slept.  I have no doubts the jury got it correct.

I thought you might enjoy listening to his 911 call. It's loaded with hotspots! Which ones do you see? There are many of them...

Cindy Anthony Says She Searched for Chlorophyll
  by Eyes at 3:14 PM

Cindy Anthony took the stand today, a day after her attorney, Mark Lippman told CNN that the Anthony's don't believe their daughter is innocent, and what she said was surprising.

Cindy claims that she is the one who did searches on the computer for Chlorophyll, which ultimately lead to chloroform, and other searches.  Her excuse is that her little Yorkie wast acting sluggish and she wondered if it was due to the bamboo in her yard.  Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in plants.

Do I believe Cindy?

Absolutely not.  Here are my thoughts:
  1. Cindy Anthony truly believed in her daughter's innocence for months and years (as she was in a state of serious denial) and when the searches came out, she would have come forward with this then, but she didn't. This is a big, big clue.

  2. Cindy's demeanor is very different in her testimony today than it has been in the past. Cindy has always been very calm during her testimony, and not nervous, but today, she is palpably nervous.  It is a notable change from her baseline behavior.  She swallows awkwardly, is breathing heavier and is more labored in her breathing. Why the notable change?

  3. Her excuses for why she searched for these sound ridiculous.

  4. Would Cindy have a motive to lie?  Absolutely.  Her daughter is facing death, and she has to live with the fact that she is the one who turned her into the police, and that call may ultimately lead to Casey's death.  No mother wants to witness their child die -- especially by the death penalty.

  5. Cindy Anthony, according to reports I have read, never mentioned this before in her depositions. She absolutely would have, if this was true.  Why is this the first time we are hearing it?

  6. Reports are saying that Cindy Anthony was at work during the time the searches were committed, though she says she left early.
I do not believe Cindy Anthony.  These are one-in-a-million odds that are so far fetched, the potential this is true are slim to none. I think the majority of people will see this. You don't need eyes for lies.

George's Alledged Mistress Krystal Holloway: My Thoughts
  by Eyes at 1:10 PM

George Anthony's alleged mistress, Krystal Holloway, aka "River Cruz", is quite an interesting person to analyze.  She was in the news in March 2010 when it was reported that she had an affair with George Anthony.  She and her twin sister, Cecelia, spoke out to the media.  You can watch Krystal here.  This video is full of hotspots by both Krystal and her sister, Cecelia, but Krystal didn't talk about the affair with George. When I originally saw this, I did not believe the sisters story that they were unmotivated by money.

Krystal's sister, Cecelia, says there is no money motive, and Krystal confirmed it, however, shortly after this, Nancy Grace broke the story that the sisters did do a story with the National Enquirer. Nancy held up the tabloid on her show. Clearly, the article in the Enquirer outed the sisters and it didn't bode well that Krystal or her sister, are honest women.

Furthermore, I uncovered the transcript of when Krystal Holloway, aka River Cruz, talked to the Orange County Sheriff's office about what she knew about George Anthony. Krystal talks about her relationship with George and what George supposedly told her about Caylee's death.

The investigator says on page 10 asks Krystal, "Did you and George ever become romantically involved?"  Krystal says, "No, we didn't."  The investigator confirms this again to which Krystal reiterates the word, "No" a second time.

Krystal's speech is loaded with a lot of false starts--sentence starts and stops that ultimately go another direction, and she doesn't give solid statements. She doesn't answer direct question asked of her and she rambles on about unrelated things--all hallmarks of a less than honest person.

When asked how it all started with George, she says, "... I don't...I don't even know how it started."

She is not a credible person, if you ask me.  The defense would be insane to put her on the stand.  It would be a move of incredible desperation because if I were a prosecutor, I'd shred her to bits.

The investigator asked, "What can you tell me about it [the relationship between Krystal and George]?"

Krystal says, "Well, we would sit and talk for hours, you know, and I would feel bad, and he would tell me about, um, the baby. You know, and how he would sing and talk, you know, and things he would do."

Krystal talked about how she would visit George's house and how George thought his house was bugged, but when questioned about it directly, Krystal waffles.

The investigator says, "Did he [George] say the house was bugged, or why did you believe the house was bugged?"

Krystal says, "He didn't outright say the house was bugged, but I kind of know from his conversation, you know like..."  Krystal stops talking at this point.

Krystal is very evasive in many of her answers. She hits me as someone who takes shreds of the truth and spins it to what she wants to the story to be.  I also wonder if she met the Anthonys on purpose--so she could "sell a story".

When you look at what Krystal tells the investigators George supposedly said about what happened to Caylee, and that it was an accident--it's fascinating.

The investigator asks Krystal, "Did he tell you what he thought happened to the child?" (page 16).

Krystal says, "Yeah."

"What did he say?" asks the investigator.

Krystal says, "He said it was an accident...that went wrong, and it just snowballed. And he said you know how you tell a small lie?  And he just tried to cover it up and it just got really big and was just...it went out of control."

If you notice, Krystal has no memory of a conversation, like, "George said to me that Casey had an accident, and she lied about it, and I've had to cover it up."   She lacks honest memory recall--actual words spoken-- as well as details about what was said specifically, like, "We were talking about Casey, when he said it was an accident and Casey's lies have spiraled out of control."  Both of which are big red flags.

The investigator says, "Did he explain it to you?  Did he give you more than that?"  Krystal says no.  Her answer is very suspect--much of what Krystal says is suspect.

But then I believe Krystal admits to the truth when she says, "He...he just said that 'I really believe it was an accident.'"  That my dear friends is the truth!!

Why would George want to believe anything else at that point?

If you notice, Krystal has memory recall of actual words said and gives details here, which were missing before.  However, Krystal wants us to believe it was more than that--possibly for fame and fortune.  If you notice, she then finishes that statement with, "And it just went wrong and she tried to cover it up."

The investigator says, "Did he say to you that Casey had told him it was an accident, or was this something you believed?"

Krystal proves my point when she responds. She says, "He didn't say that." [Page 17] Yet she rambles on again trying to convince the investigator.

The woman is clearly not trustworthy!  She shows many hallmarks of a liar and I suspect an opportunist, and Krystal even tells us herself that she is a liar.  On page 19, she says, "I mean, I've lied. I've done my fair share of things in life that I am not proud of."

Is this another Krystal?

If Krystal takes the stand, she will be fun to dissect without a doubt, but in my opinion she will be an absolute train wreck.

BTW, Krystal has an arrest record for theft and burglary as well.

I rest my case.

 Arms Across The Chest
  by Eyes at 12:09 PM

PMizu

We've all seen people stand with their arms crossed across their chest. Nearly every body language expert out there will tell you that the person is conveying a non-verbal message that they are closed-off to you.

While some people do communicate this message, I am disagreement that all arms crossed in front of one's chest means a person is closed off.

When people are cold, they will cross their arms to conserve heat. Some people find it comforting to put their arms in this position as standing with one's arms at their side is not the most comfortable.

Next time you see someone with their arms closed off, don't automatically assume it means they have no interest in you. They may simply be cold!

Dalia Dippolito Found Guilty and Has No Reaction
  by Eyes at 2:29 PM

We all wondered if a jury would believe the "reality TV" story that the defense team proposed as the reason Dalia tried to kill her husband. It didn't work. Thank god! It only took the jury three hours to convict Dalia, who was subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison. Thanks, Karon, for the update.

 A Master Manipulator?
  by Eyes at 10:34 AM

Here is an interesting video of a manipulator, Bentley Williams, on The Bachelorette, smoozing up to Ashley Herbert, while he dishes his real feelings to the camera--that Ashley isn't his type. He is mean, calculating, and missing normal emotions of empathy, if you ask my opinion. The instant I saw him on TV, he turned me off. The entire video is interesting to watch, if you are fascinated by human behavior like I am.

If you watch his facial expressions with Ashley, they do not match what he tells her. He rarely, if ever gives a Duchenne smile. This guy gives off all the clues one needs to know he wasn't genuine, if you know what to look for!

 Dateline NBC: Raven Leigertwood
  by Eyes at 12:33 PM

Dateline featured the story of Veno and Raven Leigertwood this past week--an interesting story indeed.  It's a true mystery, yet unsolved, so what is the truth?  What happened to Veno Leigertwood?

If there was ever a tough case to watch on video and wonder what the truth is, this is it.  Why?  Because the story is complex.  Veno Leigertwood was gunned down outside his home early on a Saturday morning when he was on his way to give a presentation to a college class.  A witness reported seeing two suspects go into an alley, and come out after gun shots were fired 15 minutes later--the same alley where Veno's body was found, but they have never been identified.  And worse, Veno's family is pointing the finger squarely at Veno's wife, Raven.

Raven's behavior is interesting.  She talks very controlling in the first clip we see of her on Dateline.  "You...don't...think...it's possible... for...someone...this...good...to have this happen to them."    Is she thinking on her feet, censoring what she is saying?  Why? Notice the stark pauses between words?  It's telling that she is not talking freely and without thought.

She also flagged me when she talked about the morning Veno was gunned down.  Her account of events that morning is oddly missing details.  She is very scattered in what she recalls, which I find odd.  The story doesn't coherently go from hearing foot steps to looking out the window, to wondering what was going on.  She jumps from footsteps to the police inside her house.  Did they break in or did she let them in?  Why does she skip the details here?  In my opinion, we do not have a normal memory progression recollection.   She also is extremely emotionally flat. Why is she so flat?  Was this common for Raven?

Yet when I see her cry on the news clip after Veno was killed, while I don't see tears, I do see genuine stress or sadness. It could be either, however.  I can't tell by that clip alone.  I wish I could see that entire clip.  That would be helpful.

Furthermore, Raven says, "In the beginning, my immediate thought was, this was an accident, it has to be.  Someone didn't mean to do this."  I find that statement very odd.  Is that how you would feel it someone killed your husband with a semi-automatic gun? It was an accident??

She further says, "You can't focus on anything but trying to prove everybody wrong."  What?  That doesn't make sense to me.  Did she show classic signs of denial or not?  I'd like to find out.

And later she tells Veno's family maybe someone killed him because of bad debt.  What?  Why would she say that?

Another point made by the police that is was not common for Veno to leave the house on a Saturday at 6:30, so either this was a random event, yet not a robbery, or someone tipped someone off that he would be leaving that morning.

Also, Veno's cell phone was missing.  This is interesting. Why would they take JUST his cell phone?

When Raven is asked if she didn't want to go back to work during the economic downturn, I don't believe her when says it wasn't a problem.  She said, "Going back to work (shoulder shrug) really wasn't....ah...a...problem."   I believe Veno's mother that is was an issue for her, but would that cause her to kill Veno, I don't know.

Later in show, Raven also is questioned by Dateline that she told different people different stories of what she was doing that morning.  This definitely raises my eyebrows.  Honest people don't get these details mixed up.  They are clear as day and never changed.  This is a whopper of a red flag. If this is true, then that cements it for me, and I don't believe Raven's story.

Raven raises my eyebrows to say the least.  She is high on my radar of "want to see more" because it is possible that she did have some involvement in Veno's death, but didn't actually do the deed, if you will.  In these situations, people can convince themselves they are innocent and are not lying, which makes clues a lot harder to come by.  So, I would like to see more, but I am clearly suspicious of some involvement outside of pulling the trigger.

If anyone finds any video footage of Raven shortly after Veno's death, I would love to see it!

 Casey Anthony's Emotions
  by Eyes at 10:45 AM

Many of you have requested that I review a video of Casey Anthony, that is void of audio, showing Casey after her mom Cindy testified in her trial.

Starting at 0:16-0:20, we see Casey display anger as she lowers her eyebrows and points her finger as she is talking.  Her emotions then morph into sadness.  Look at how her eyebrows knit together and raise up in the middle. If you look, you will also see stress lines in Casey's forehead.  Casey then shakes her head, as if in disbelief, as she appears to potentially blow her nose from the tears she is shedding.

Casey starts talking at around 0:31 and says, "She....(blah, blah, blah)" as she then points her finger.  You can clearly tell she is frustrated by her mom or whoever she is talking about.  I suspect they did not do what Casey wanted. Casey also displays oblique eyebrows again, which I interpret as genuine sadness.

The camera zooms in and we see Casey shake her head no. I suspect she is in disbelief at something her mom said on the stand that she does not agree with, and she can't believe it. At 0:40, Casey displays anger again and we see she is clearly frustrated as she speaks.  At one point, she says the word "Nothing"...Maybe Casey was hoping her mom would say something about something and she didn't?  It's hard to say, but Casey is clearly upset and angry. Her emotions are genuine.

At around 1:34, Casey spouts off to the woman she is talking to. We see her confident and arrogant in whatever she is saying, which is interesting, considering all that Casey is going through. Then around 1:42, Casey seems to be saying something like "It just hurts so bad."  What is interesting is she is likely reflecting on something her mother did or didn't say, or did or didn't do -- but she never get this emotion when it comes to Caylee. We've never heard her say once, "It just hurts so bad" when speaking of Caylee.  It's eye-opening, without a doubt.

At 1:50, we see Casey talk again in anger.  I suspect she says, "She...(blah, blah, blah)"

I think one can strongly conclude that Casey is not happy with what her mother did during her testimony.  Whatever happened clearly makes Casey angry, upset, and in a state of disbelief.  At the end of the video, whatever the woman says to Casey, seems to calm her down.

 She Outsmarted Weiner!
  by Eyes at 11:36 AM

How can one not get a laugh at this story?  Mr. Weiner? Sending pictures.... Who could write fiction this insane?

While I missed the initial breaking news because I was away from my computer last week, and Rep. Anthony Weiner has since admitted to his obvious lies yesterday, it is fascinating to see one of the woman behind the story:  Megan Broussard.

If you want my opinion, she is not a dumb girl.  At first, as she says, she didn't believe she was really speaking to Rep. Weiner.  I believe her.  She thought someone in his position couldn't be that dumb, could he?  Then when she found out he was, I suspect she decided to see how low he would go, and boy did he!  She tempted him and he fell for the bait.  She certainly played him a fool!  She outsmarted him right down the drain.  She was very calculating, if you ask me.

Power makes people think they can beat the system, doesn't it?  And well, when you see Elliot Spitzer on CNN, it sure makes you think they can!

In the end, its not a laughing matter, its quite sad and just a strange story that's hard to believe is real, true and newsworthy. We live in a society where truth, fiction, lies, and reality all blur into a fuzzy cocktail of insanity. If we all learned to get a little more honest, life wouldn't be nearly this complicated, if you ask me!

Hannah Overton: Prosecution Withheld Key Evidence
  by Eyes at 10:39 AM

Salt and Pepper

DEATH BY SALT POISONING

Back in 2008, I saw the story of Hannah Overton. Hannah was a woman who loved children, who donated her time to children's causes and who eventually fostered a little boy in need named Andrew Burd. She wanted to adopt Andrew. Andrew suffered from a rare eating disorder that caused him to have a ravenous appetite. Andrew sadly died in Hannah's care in 2006 at the age of four.

The prosecution contended that Hannah punished Andrew and made him eat a lethal amount of salt. Hannah was convicted of killing Andrew, and was found guilty of capital murder in 2007 and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

In 2008, I saw the story detailed on ABC, and in the story, I got to see Hannah Overton on the stand talk about the accusations against her. I was absolutely certain this woman truly loved children and had Andrew's best interest at heart. I disagreed with the juries decision. You can read my thoughts here.

This morning, when I came to my computer, a reader who disagreed with my opinion graciously wrote me and shared an update in this case that I had not heard about.

From MySanAntonio.com, "...San Antonio Express-News staff writer John MacCormack has reported [that] the case against Overton was deeply flawed. Even former Nueces County District Attorney Anna Jimenez, who as a prosecutor helped argue the case against Overton, now concedes that her conviction was “an injustice.”

The article continues, "Overton's new attorney, Cynthia Orr of San Antonio, contends the prosecution withheld critical evidence about Andrew's medical history as well as medical evidence that erodes the case for intentional poisoning."

Sadly, at this point, the courts are denying an appeal. I hope this changes soon! Hannah deserves to be set free!!

Tips on How to Spot a Liar
  by Eyes at 1:01 PM

365.50 - Liar

Here is an excellent article titled "How to Spot a Liar" from The Globe and Mail sent to me by an Eyes for Lies reader.  It's full of superb information, so I thought I'd share it with you.  The reader also asked me if I thought the most successful liars among us are socially-emotionally intelligent, and yes, I do agree they are.

When I watch people like serial killer Ted Bundy, I see a man who knew how to read people and emotions extremely well, and he used that to his advantage, without a doubt. He was hands down socially-emotionally intelligent.
